Adhesive for indoor and outdoor use
Weicon Green Tube Assembly Adhesive
The manufacturer of specialised chemical products Weicon has developed an adhesive that is suitable for a wide range of indoor and outdoor applications: Weicon Green Tube Assembly Adhesive.
The assembly adhesive is a powerful dispersion acrylic adhesive for assembly, repair and touch-up work. It has a high initial adhesion and final strength and cures rapidly.
After drying, the assembly adhesive can be sanded and plastered over and can be painted over with commercially available paints and varnishes. The adhesive is temperature resistant in a range from -20 °C to +80 °C and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. The white flexible adhesive is low in emissions and free from solvents.
Suitable for many applications
The assembly adhesive is universally applicable and can be used for a wide variety of applications. It is excellently suited for bonding numerous materials over large surface areas. The following materials can be permanently bonded using the assembly adhesive: wood-based materials (such as skirting boards, decorative mouldings, panels or chipboard), PVC, polystyrene foam boards, rigid PU foam (e.g. insulation boards and cable ducts), mineral materials (e.g. tiles) and metals. The adhesive is suitable for use on absorbent substrates such as plaster, concrete, fibre cement, plasterboard and untreated wood.
Green Tube
Green Tube is the more sustainable packaging for flexible adhesives and sealants. The tip and lid of the packaging are made from 100% recycled plastic. The cartridge body is made from 100% cardboard and the adhesives and sealants are contained in a tube-shaped bag. Using this combination of materials reduces the amount of plastic required by 80% and allows most of the packaging to be recycled. The cardboard cartridge causes 53% less CO2 emissions in the manufacturing process than a standard PE cartridge. The Green Tube can be used with any standard cartridge gun. The tube-shaped bag extends the shelf life of the products by more than six months compared to PE cartridges – without compromising on product quality or user-friendliness. The Green Tube is the alternative to conventional plastic cartridges.
